Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Projecting Success (https://inferencebrief.co) is a monthly newsletter for our apprentices and alumni, operated by Projecting Success (“we”, “us”, “our”). Questions about this policy can be sent to support@inferencebrief.co.

2. What data we collect

• Account data: Email address and authentication tokens when you sign in via Google or email magic link (managed by Supabase Auth).
• Subscription data: Your Stripe customer ID and subscription status (plan, billing interval, current period). We never store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
• Preference data: Topics and industries you select in the app, stored in our database linked to your user ID.
• Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, referrer) for security and performance. We do not run cross-site tracking.
• Newsletter data: Email address and open/click statistics collected by Buttondown, our email delivery provider.

3. How we use your data

• Deliver the monthly newsletter and account-related transactional emails
• Provide personalised issue features (Pro plan subscribers)
• Process and manage your subscription via Stripe
• Respond to support enquiries
• Detect abuse and maintain security

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

5. Cookies

We use a single first-party authentication cookie (set by Supabase) to keep you signed in. We also store a localStorage key for your theme preference (light/dark). No third-party tracking cookies are set.

6. Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is deleted within 30 days except where required by law (e.g. billing records kept for 7 years). Newsletter subscriber data is managed by Buttondown; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

7. Your rights (UK/EU GDPR)

If you are located in the UK or EU you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
